Buwekula Assistant Coach Davis Ssozi Nnono has confirmed that three key players may miss Sunday’s decisive Masaza Cup semi-final return leg against Kyaggwe, heightening concerns ahead of the crucial tie.

Buwekula’s preparations for their Masaza Cup semi-final return leg against Kyaggwe have been dealt a blow after Assistant Coach Davis Ssozi Nnono revealed that three key players are struggling with injuries.

The affected players include defender Fahad Aniku, fellow defender Junior Kikaambi, and midfielder Abubaker Kalungi — all regular starters who played vital roles in the team’s previous matches.

“The team is facing injuries, and three of our starting players are likely to miss tomorrow’s match,” Nnono said.

Despite the setback, the assistant coach expressed optimism that the squad is mentally and physically ready for the challenge. “We’ve given everything to the boys, and I believe we are on our way to the finals,” he added.

Buwekula fans have also expressed confidence, warning Kyaggwe supporters to expect a tough contest at St. Bishop’s SS Playground on Sunday, October 19. Kyaggwe currently leads the tie 1–0 after their home victory on October 12 at NTC Playground.

“One goal is nothing. We all know Kyaggwe performs poorly at Bishop’s SS, so they should expect a hard time. Buwekula will defeat them 2–0,” said fan Nsubuga Fizal, who urged the technical bench to select a strong starting lineup capable of scoring early.

“Our boys played well, and even Kyaggwe fans saw how we dominated them. I believe this time Buwekula has the best chance to qualify for the finals,” Nsubuga added.

Another fan, Angello Praise, noted that Buwekula had beaten Kyaggwe at Bishop’s SS before, predicting a repeat performance. “One goal means nothing — history will repeat itself as Buwekula wins again,” he said.

Angello also called on supporters to turn up in large numbers to cheer for the team. “I want to urge all Buwekula fans to fill Bishop’s SS Playground to capacity so our players can feel the energy and motivation,” he added.

However, some fans expressed concern over dwindling fan attendance, with Abdul Wabondo blaming poor crowd support for recent losses.

“We have failed to turn up in big numbers at our home matches, and I don’t expect Buwekula fans to travel to Kyaggwe. Last time, Kyaggwe outnumbered us in the stands, and that’s why they won,” he said.
